SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF SERGEY P. SERGEEV

On 30 June 2016 at the age of 67 after the long cruel illness passed away a man of mark, whose charisma, ability to be a leader, zest for life and professional talent had resulted in gathering the effective team of like-minded colleagues. As a follower of Vladimir A. Komarov, he worthily continued his works. Many gold and platinum group metal deposits, as well as nickel, copper, and titanium deposits were found and explored under his leadership or with his participation during more than quarter of a century. Sergey P. Sergeev contributed to the theory and application of the Induced Polarization method; he governs designing and production of new instruments for electrical prospecting. For his long-tern meaningful activities, he was awarded by the Ministry of Geology of the USSR and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. For us, he never was a boss but our friend, brother, or team-mate. For young people, he acted as a real father. All of us are deeply indebted to him. He had many real friends all over the world: in Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, USA, Peru, Republic of South Africa, Israel and other countries. His hospitable household was always open for guests, his friends and colleagues. His enthusiasm and smile supported us through hard times. He helped people not only by words but deeds; he assisted old teachers of geophysics with money in the troubles of their lives. As long as we live, we will cherish the memory of him in our hearts.
